Invisalign

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a painless treatment method which is done with custom made clear aligners and does not require braces.

All the dental movements needed to achieve the perfect smile are designed by an orthodontist using Clincheck 3D software. In this way, the outcome and duration of the virtual treatment plan can be calculated in advance.

Thus, the fastest possible treatment with the shortest possible movements is achieved with unparalleled precision.

Why Invisalign?

Undoubtedly, the main advantage provided by this system is aesthetics. It's practically invisible. Although it should be worn all day, except for eating and brushing, you can remove it at any time on special occasions such as a job interview, meeting or wedding. When having orthodontic treatment with Invisalign, unlike traditional braces, you don’t have to change your daily habits and you can eat and drink whatever you want.

Aligners apply very mild and controlled forces to the teeth. That means more comfort, so you almost feel nothing. One of the advantages of this system is that the appointments are shorter compared to the patients who receive orthodontic treatment with braces, and the appointments are more intermittent, so less visits are made.

Invisalign is ideal for activities that involve many possibilities of physical contact or trauma, such as football, basketball or martial arts.

What Are the Invisalign Treatment Stages?

1

First Consultation

The main goals of your first consultation will be to learn more about the malocclusion that has brought you into the orthodontist's office, go over treatment plans, and give you an opportunity to ask questions.

2

Dental Records

To determine how your treatment will be done, some photos and x-rays are taken. With the iTero scanner, an intra-mouth scan is performed to obtain a three-dimensional image of your mouth.

3

Virtual Treatment Plan

With 3D simulation of your new smile, your personal treatment plan is designed. In the next step, clear aligners will be manufactured.

4

Starting Treatment

You will need to wear your clear aligners for about 20 - 22 hours a day and replace them every 7 to 14 days. Examinations are carried out every 6 to 8 weeks.

5

Perfect Smiles

At the end of your treatment the retainer is placed at the back of your anterior teeth and you get the perfect smile you always wanted.

Can I smoke with Invisalign?

Ideally, clear aligners should be removed if smoking. It is not recommended to smoke with aligners as they can be stained or discolored.

Yes. However, we recommend wearing your aligner for at least 20 hours each day. It is usually removed only for cleaning, eating and drinking.

Chewing gum with Invisalign is not a good option, as this can damage the aligners.

How to care and clean invisalign aligners?

Invisalign aligners should be cleaned daily with a soft toothbrush under water without toothpaste. Never use hot water to clean the aligners as this can warp the plastic.

I’ve had orthodontic treatment in the past. Can I still get Invisalign?

Yes. Over time it’s common for teeth to shift back to their former position after orthodontic treatment – especially when a retainer isn’t worn. When this happens, Invisalign is a fast, discreet way of improving the smile once again.

Is Invisalign treatment painful?

Generally, pressure can be felt on the teeth when the treatment is first started and every time the aligners change. This is an indication that the teeth are aligned in their correct places
